We’re looking for someone to join our Design Engineering team to oversee the Manufacturing Electronics Test infrastructure (test fixtures, equipment, protocols, etc.). For this role, the Manufacturing Manager is the customer. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and would also be tasked with helping the team release new products. Hours are flexible, Monday through Friday, at our automated, clean manufacturing facility. We are constantly experimenting with new processes and upgrading our capabilities.
Benefits include competitive wages, paid health insurance premiums (100% for employee and dependents), HSA contribution, 401k, paid vacation, sick leave and holidays, and an excellent working environment.
The team you’d be joining is well trained, takes pride in their work, and comes to work with a smile. Individuals have autonomy over their work with support for questions and brainstorming from senior members of the team. This role is an opportunity to gain high-tech, hands-on skills in a friendly, respectful environment.
Key Objectives:
·    Keep the electronics test equipment running and proactively monitored and maintained facility-wide.
·    Design, assemble, test, repair, troubleshoot, and document electronic Prototypes and Manufacturing test fixtures.
·    Reduce Cost of assemblies (COGS) through Root Cause Analysis, design for manufacturability, and test process improvement.
·    Handle non-standard troubleshooting tasks that exceed the technician’s knowledge base.
·    Backup the manufacturing technician to test, troubleshoot, and repair all electronics assemblies in Manufacturing such that ship dates and quality standards are met.
Education and Experience
·    Ideally has a EE degree & two years related experience – or equivalent practical experience
·    Knowledge of analog circuit troubleshooting – e.g. op-amp circuits, analog control systems
·    Ability to work with multimeters, oscilloscopes, & schematics to troubleshoot and repair fixtures
·    Experience with embedded system design is beneficial
·    Knowledge of hand soldering and rework
·    Knowledge of IPC standards a plus
You’ll love working at Wavelength if you are…
A Creative Problem Solver: You are resourceful, confident, flexible, and positive.
Able to troubleshoot electronics components: You know your op-amps and transistors and with a bit of training can narrow down faults using schematics.
Handy with a soldering iron: Repairs and rework are second nature (even under a microscope).
Focused on High Reliability: You know or want to learn IPC standards and how to build reliable electronics for critical laser systems.
A Fan of Variety: You thrive when each day is different from the next.
Attentive to detail: You can design a test protocol that will catch any faults.
Process Driven: You know if you nail the process, quality follows, and you always nail the process.
Personable: You are professional with both written and verbal communication. You are sociable and earn the trust of the team.
