Sr. Electrical Engineer

Vision Aerial is a fast-growing technology company designing and manufacturing state-of-the-art Unmanned Aerial Systems (drones) for use in demanding industrial environments. With a design ethos of extreme adaptability, performance, and quality, Vision Aerial systems have been deployed all over the world and are used in a wide range of applications including: mapping/surveying, fire fighting, infrastructure inspection, and search & rescue.

Vision Aerial is looking for passionate, energetic individuals to join our team and help us scale to the next level. This position will require an organized, self-motivated individual with an adaptable, fast learning attitude. This hire will lead all electrical engineering efforts. As an early-stage company, we need someone capable of wearing multiple hats well and as our products are safety-critical, we need a candidate with a maniacal focus on detail.

What you’ll do:

Electrical System Architecture development
Strong understanding of microcontroller achitecture & programming
Circuit design
Embedded systems design
PCB layout and design
Harness design
FMEA
Execute and/or assist in the integration of new technology
New product development
Assist service dept. with diagnosis & repairs
Assist and report finding to the quality assurance team
Production system design integration
Test fixture design
Manage RF/EMI testing
Passion for learning
Focus on physics first principles

Programming experience (C++, QT, Python)
Direct experience with robotics or drone manufacturing
Direct experience in infrastructure, energy, GIS or mapping/surveying industries
Prior experience with early-stage companies
Drone piloting experience
Part 107 drone operators’ certificate
